Diff's between Victoracer & Ecsta V700?
The Kumho website doesn't say. Tirerack doesn't say. Which ones should I get for autox? The Ecsta tread looks more aggro, but I've also heard the Victoracers rawk. Anyone know?
Thanks

Apparently, the rubber compound is the same, but they do plan on changing it in the future. The tread is different, (which doesnt make a difference in the dry) and i would imagine the radial design construction is what really makes it different. i've heard good and bad things about the new ECSTA. the Victoracers have always been a low buck favorite that can be compeittive at its potential. I do know the ECSTA weigh like bricks.

well, i like the ecsta v700 for one reason....225/45-15's. victoracer isn't made in that size. so, my choice is easy.

225 doesnt rub?
The ECSTA V700 was supposed to be lighter than the Victoracer. I haven't compared the two, which is a bit hard to do since they don't share more than a couple sizes in common.
I do know that they are "currently" the same compound but later this year they will begin using the new compound in the ECSTA. This is supposed to be lighter and grippier than the Victoracer compound.
As for now, I bought they V700 because I wanted the specific size (235/45/13)

225/14 were 22# each. not including wheels. compared to hoosiers, they are bricks. we did a side by side comparison mounted on the same wheel. extremely noticable.
225/45/15 shaved escta's.. 20.5 lbs
225/45/15 escta's 22 lbs
225/50/15 Victo's 25.5 lbs
I would stay witht he old Victos if they had 225/45/15, a whole lot more durable tire.. I am not happy with the durability of the Escta's... I guess I'm going to hoosiers...
