So my ac worked this past summer(2007) for the most part, then after that...come november or so, my ac hasnt been working since then. It's getting hotter and hotter out here in cali. Any guesses on what might be going on?

 

Do you hear the compressor clutch engage when you press the A/C button?

Does the condenser fan turn on when the A/C button is on?

Finally, you might have a refrigerant leak. Use an appropriate set of automotive refrigerant gauges to test whether the refrigerant level may be low.

and MAYBE i have a leak....the thing is, i remember when i would make a hard left/right turn, water would leak out of nowhere from under the front passengers side...so my excuse to my passengers is that my car likes them...so it lubricated on them. Think this is a major sign of leakage?

 

The water is normal drainage of condensation (not refrigerant) from the A/C unit; however, the fact that the water is draining into rather than outside of the car is abnormal. Check for a clogged A/C drainage tube.
