I have oil leaking from the cam seal and it's driving me crazy, I know that STR used to produce a double sealed billet piece to stop oil from leaking...specifically from #8 on the diagram below:

Hondabond is your friend.

 

I've used permatex, which is Hondabond pretty much.

 

Ditto. I used so much Hondabond last time it looked like the Ooze was trying to get out from that seal.

 

My cam seals never leak. Replace yours
STR made one to replace the OLDER cam seals. The STR design is the
same as the newer design which came on the 96+ i believe.
It shouldnt leak, you dont need rtv, and it is reusable.

 

That's all that I needed...thanks, I'll do that the next time that I have the valve cover off.

You can always pick up ultragray at your local autoparts store. Pretty much same stuff as hondabond.

 

AEBS also makes one with 3 o-rings insted of the STR 2.

The last I remember Honda has a new cam seal
to improve on the leak problem. Ask the parts guy
at Honda about this.

 

yes they fixed this problem, the new desing works much better. plus it costs like $4 compared to a $30 str seal

 

My engine oil always disappear outta nowhere, not leaking or anything when I check under the car
dunno if this is the problem, I am running Toda B's if that matters
Alan from AJR told me it's probably the valve seal wearing out
so is it the valve seals now? or the cam seals???
can anyone help me out?

 

If it was the cam seal you would see oil by your vtec solenoid on the outside of the head. The cam seal is # 8 in the pic above. Thare is only one.

im about to change my cam seals, cam cap and o ring on distributer. where should i place hondabond and where shouldnt i place hondabond?
