Default Maaco in the northwest

I am about to get my car painted at a "budget" shop in the Portland/Vancouver area. I know it isn't going to be great, which is fine, but I was wondering if anyone has been to any of the local Maaco's or similar type of shop and has had really good results. Alternatively, if you went somewhere and they messed your car up then please also let me know. Thanks!

its maaco. you are gonna get a 30 footer. meaning any closer than thrity feet your car will look like crap. maaco sucks. sorry if i offend you. but it would be better to go the extra dollar when you get your car painted unless you just want paint to have it painted.

dont listen to that crap. heres the breakdown. yo pay for what you get.. I had a dent on my right front fender, took it to maaco.. it looks great! for real. i didnt go cheap on it tho. i know maaco offers cheap body paint jobs, but thats because they dont do any prepping.. but if you pay them to do it all, it will turn out good. and if it doesnt, since they are a large corporate company, they will have to fix it.. i've seen their full custon body work, and it looks great!

30 Footer?? WTF are you talking about obviously you never seen their work. I have seen some awesome paint jobs come out of Maaco and for cheap. Yeah its not the very best paint, but I sure couldnt tell the diffrence. Plus if it starts to flake or peal or other problems they will repaint it free. I would go with Maaco if your on a budget but ive heard some Maacos do better work than others.

there prep work sucks. take it to them torn down and ready to be painted and you will get a clean job for what it is if not they tape everything off and it looks like **** just tape windows and lights off. so all your moldings, windshield washed squirters get painted it looks ghetto if you take all that off then put it back in after it should look pretty good. i work at a body shop and do all the body work on cars maybe if your willing to pay enough we can work out a deal i have 1 car and another about done for example of my work if your interested let me know

I had great experience with the Maaco in Tacoma I had a 88 cabriolet painted and they did a excellent job they did all the prep work..Now on the other had when I used to live in FL my buddy had a RX-7 painted by them and if was horrible they painted everything even the headlights and another buddy took his VW to the same Maaco and he did all the prep work removed everything he didn't want painted it it turned out great so it is a hit or miss with those places..

just make sure to strip everything cause they painted exhaust and rad on my car. the paint is cool for like first six months and then it all comes off
but then again, you get what you pay for

I've had over 20 cars painted at the downtown Seattle Maaco. Go there, they do a pretty damn good job.

I am thinking about just painting the car myself but I don't know if I want to deal with the hassle.
