Do any of you guys know what is needed or how to run a electronic VSS in a CRX. I currently have a electronic VSS sensor and a portion of the harness from a 93 civic ex. Im wondering where to run or how to run the rest of the harness to the cluster/ ECU? Thank you.

as of right now there is no cluster in it and I picked up an S2K cluster, and I allready know about the cluster in it wont read the VSS right and that it needs to be modified

th S2K cluster is not an easy swap and requires an adapter to even read that 93 VSS you said you have.
do a bit more research and you will find out. not saying you shouldn't do it, but make sure you know what an adventure it is getting the VSS signal pulse re-modulated by a separate adapter and there was also something about the temp gauge IIRC
as for using the VSS in a rex, its usually 3 wires.
1) ignition power
2) vss output signal
3) ground
keep in mind the vss signal needs to run to the ECU as well, since your removing the sending unit by not having a stock cluster. so it has places to go, the cluster vss input as well as the correct pin at the ECU.
every usdm cr-x had a cable driven speedo, so you have to convert to either a JDM cluster or something 92+ once its wired.

Thank you, and my CRX is just a shell, its the ZC Si model, but there is no cable in it for the speedo, and It will have a B series in it mone than likely a B18C1. And Im getting the Cluster modified so it will read temp, speed, and RPm's right. I know it will be a pain just wondering if someone has done it before and could possibly shed some light on the subject. Thanks-

bump bc i want to kno a how 2, basically jdm cluser in a crx needs a vss as well as ne 92+ cluster, i kno mad pple are doin this... there has to be a how to on digital vss for dummies around the web somewhere!

u can use the cable still and run the electronic vss u just rip apart ur 90 civic cluster take the speedo ant strip it apart face and needle and take the 2 screws that are small and wire them to the electronic vss on the 92 and up cluster and put the ground to the ground of the dash and new cluster then u just hide the old one under ur dash and still able to retain ur km and what i did was one had my motor km and the other had my body km for ref
Speed sensor wire location and function:
Looking at the plug from the wire side with the release button up:
Left wire: ground
Middle wire: +12v switched source
Right wire: speed signal(ecu and cluster)
Yur on yur own with the rest
you can do it!
