Default electrical woes... any help appreciated

so here are my symptoms...

it started out with my car over heating.. but everything was in working order. cooling system was all in tact. the needle only started climbing when i would press the brakes.

after this it progressed to the car being hard to start.. symptoms were only that of a bad starter. i took out the starter and tested it on a good battery. it pops out fine. but it will start to spin then die out.. not keep on winding. i put it back in the car because it would still start the car it would just take a few tries

lastly, it progressed to the battery being completely drained out. i jump started the car and had it running for a while to charge up the battery. drove it aruond for a few minutes and everything. this was at night , so i had my headlights on... when the radiator fan turned on.. my right hdlamp turned out. went back to the dash turned it off and back on.. both came on fine. .

that got me to thinking that it was running off the battery. so i got my voltmeter and started poking around... and i'm getting 10.5 volts out of the alternator to the fuse box and from the batter to the fuse box. i thuoght i was supposed to be getting 14 especially while the car is running. also while i was checking for volts that also caused the headlight to go out....

when i turned off the car after being on for a good minute it was back to square one.. no power anywhere.

is this my alternator being the cause of all this? or any other ideas?

thanks in advance

If your alternatore is only putting out 10v than you got issues with it. It should be putting out a little more tha 14v I would start by replacing that.as for your cooling problem it may be caused by that im not sure. are you sure its kickin on because if it starts overheating when you hit the brakes im thinkin no fan is kickin on.

grounds and all my connections are clean .. only things thats not cool is the power cable that has a lil corrosion on it.

and yea i was lookin to confirm that abuot the 10v vs the 14v cuz i think its leaning on alternator...

and 1993 eg-1.. my fan kicks on... i mentioned in the first post that when my fan turned on it took out the right headlight... so it was acting like it was running off the battery...

and the cooling problem is more like a short.... i've never had any issues with overheating.. but that was the first sign of any problem.

i'm supposed to be recieving an alternator today. i'll update after install
in the mean time any other confirmations or ideas is always appreciated
