I recently bought a 89 rex with a gsr and i was told by a friend that if i swap the minifold, the hood will be able to close without loss of whp. if any one knows wat would be the best way for the hood to close w/ out loss of whp, i would realy appreciate the advice.

what manifold do you have? how much does it stick up?

I had to cut some of the webbing on the under side of the hood to clear my valve cover (hasport mounts) but I have always had a stock manifold.

 

pretty sure the underwebbing trim job usually gets it done.

otherwise save your pennies and get a cf hood

what would you swap the manifold to? you can stand eye-level with the fenders and get a good idea of where to trim the hood. it will probably be near the timing belt

 

Wow.... What the hell are you trying to say... The hood will not cause ANY HP loss...

Just use spacers if it DOES NOT CLOSE.

Are you trying to find another intake manifold to use in a crx?

 

i never said will the hood cause loss of whp, i asked will the manifold be an issue to loss of hp. the manifold that was put on my friends car was a Blox power manifold? so he says . also w/ hassport mounts
