Default EEWagon Love - New OE Honda Bumpers/Trims Came in!!!

Well after an extensive search I was able to locate an OE Honda front bumper - evidently in the Honda parts database this is supposed to be the last one in the country at present. Came from Iowa!!!

So having found the front, I also secured the rear bumper too, along with the apron trim piece that runs along the top of the front bumper, just under the hood and lights. I've also ordered the belt moldings for the driver side/left side doors. The right side ones will be fine to respray them with trim paint - I'd get new ones but the right rear door isn't available through Honda now.

Also I'm hunting down a fresh front seat - right of left doesn't matter. I've seen write-ups on swapping the passenger side seat cover onto the driver's seat to fix the awesome 88-91 Civic/CR-X seat tears.

Anyways a few pics:

Front:

Note the paint line where to stop paiinting:

Rear:

Now the question I'm asking myself is whether to put them on OE black, or go with the OE 4WD model paint theme. I've always loved the OE painted bumpers the way they left the middle sections and tops black to match the side moldings, but fresh OE black new bumpers seem cool too.

Oh and they're going on this:

...and before anyone else asks:

My current bumpers aren't really that bad, but have a few scuffs on the front and small misc. knicks so I wanted them to be super funky fresh.

I might end up respraying the old bumpers and keeping them as back-ups, or maybe sell them to recoup some fundages.

Awww snap! More pieces came in! Front apron and left side belt moldings/trims:

This will be new:

And these:

Because they look like crap:

I am currently looking for some other "impossible" items for the Wagon through Honda. Hopefully I'll be posting pics of this stuff too, if I can find it.

And lastly what knocks on 12 second 1/4 mile times, handles very well, and hold all of these parts until they are installed on the Wagon?

The wagon is fighting the EG to be my fave car. Soon enough the EG will be collecting more dust than it already does!

Anyways as soon as I figure out if the bumpers get fresh body-matched paint in OE-appropriate areas then the sooner all this stuff gets put on!

I just saw a non-ripped, great condition drivers seat in a wagon while looking for hatch parts in a local junkyard. I'm doing the seat skin swap in my hatch right now so good luck!!

I love this wagon.

I have seen some pics before, great work.

My car Wagon will be getting painted soon as well (Stock Honda M. Blue, rt4wd style), but mine will be a student job from the local trade schools. The car is being built as a winter driver all round beater, so to spend more on the body work just woudnt be worth it to me.

Love how clean your wagon is though, Great Job!

Those bastard 'upper door mouldings' are so expensive for what they are. I'll be replacing mine through Honda shortly... 80 bucks a piece.

Super nice wagon! I've spent the last 2 weeks trying to find a good condition EF sedan or wagon, just about to give up and find this thread that motivated me to keep searching.

It depends on your budget an willingness to spend money on an old car like a wagon or EF sedan.

Lucky for you you're in Texas, a very much non-rust state. I've seen two mint wagons sold in TX on Ebay from the first of Feb. to now.

For the rest of you guys, thanks for the compliments.

I am a believer on this

I like the 88-91 Civic Hatches STD/DX with the black bumpers I personally think it looks better then painting them. Plus You wont have to worry about rock chips.

I also don't like the look especiall on hathes if you paint from side door trim down black with black bumpers... However I think it may look good on your wagon

What I do to the window trim garnish that you have pictured when the covering becomes britle or peels is a cheap way out but looks good. Sand down the trim to it's metal underneath and paint it. Specialty paint store has some mirror paint in a spray can called HONDA MIRROR paint which is fact. black trim color.
