soch vtec boggin out ???
my car is boggin out it sounds like thre is too much fuel . i changed the spark plugs and they were really black and smell alot like gas,
if i step on it all the way it will run hard and good , but as soon as i let go of the gas it will start boggin out ,
and also it will idle high it sound like there is a vacum leake but thre is not checked all of them
im thinkin its the ecu not the right one anybody help please im tring to get it ready so i can take it to the honda tech meet this saturday

OK, what year and trim level. also, what are the 3 numbers in the middle of the serial number on the ECU.
it does sound like a vaccum leak, do you have any CEL? these are also symptoms of a map or O2 sensor going out.

but the year of the motor is a 97 , im thinking the ecu says with red marker 97 civic and what do you mean by trim level ???

i was try to eliminate if you have swaped out the ecu, i guess i should have came out and just asked that.
anyway, just because someone wrote 97 on it doesn't mean they gave you the right one. there is a 3 digit ID # with in the serial #, also what type of motor?

yes, what motor are you using again? is this a replacement motor or are you upgrading to something more tune friendly?

well i was doing some ebaysearch and all the aouto ecus wre p2p-a82 or a81 were auto and the man- were p2p a43 or a41 a42 or a31 even a53
