Default SWAPPED MANIFOLD CAR WONT START

Pretty much as title reads... its my buddies EF. d16 motor. we had it running a week ago, but its been having idle problems. then we found that his intake manifold was cracked. so he went and bought the manifold from a junkyard off the same exact motor....

he swapped the manifolds...then me and my buddy ran his coolant lines and vac lines/plugs....

now the car will not start at all....??? any ideas from anyone would be great!??? seems like it is not getting any spark. going to pull the plug out today and actually test if there is spark or not.
but the car cranks pretty strong..just wont kick.

oh...and yes, it is a BRAND NEW dizzy thats on there. still could be the igniter tho..right? maybe from over heating?

any help is greatly appreciated.....thnx e1

solid check engine light??? or none???

make sure theres not a HUGE vacuum leak. check for spark and fuel. and dont check fuel at the rail check for injector pulse.

pull the hazard fuse to reset the ecu and try again.

go backwards from Removal. Start from scratch. Then def. check a relay. Some fuse in one of those two spots. That'll get you started for showar.

ok. here is the latest 411....

i checked: the main relay (good), fuel pump primes (good), all fuses under the dash (good), spark (good), fuel (no good)-

we figured we'd try changing out the fuel pressure regulator b/c we thought maybe it was clogged...and when we took it off, there was no hint of gas at all. so then we checked the gas return line...no gas either!!! so...now we're gonna try to replace the fuel rail and the injectors. i know for a fact that this guys injector shielding (the plastic that protects the nozzle) are all cracked!!!! idk why this guy put them in! so i'll keep everyone posted. if you have any other suggestions please lemme know so i can check on that as well..

thanks H-tech...

you check the ground on the thermostat? also things you need to get the bitch to start.

1.fuel
2.spark
should start

could be that you have the injector wiring plugged into the incorrect injector if you do not have the stock plastic injector holder on the harness.

right on. yea...i already checked the ground on the thermostat. its all good. there is definately spark...the fuel im not sure about tho.

the fuel pump primes....the main relay clicks TWICE.... what could be the reason the no fuel is getting from the fuel filter to the fuel rail to the injectors????

chances are that it is something really stupid at this point.... take a look at everything, make sure he didnt unpull the injector resistor box (if using one) or left one of the main harness plugs unpluged. besure all the ecu plugs are in nice and tight. check all fuses, ect. i ve had bad pressure regulators before (stuck open) try a known good one. and there should be at least 3 gounds to the engine, now we know the thermostat housing one is there, make sure the one by the clutch cable and the one going to the vlave cover on the drivers side is there as well, if so try adding another, it never hurts. when u turn the key to the "on" position does the ecu led flash once? stay on solid? does it do anything? im certain this is going to turn out to be something really dumb.

take off the line that goes on the bottom of the fuel regulater face it towards the outside of you car and turn the key to the on position and see if the line throwout fuel. if doesn't might be fuel pump but first check if your main relay makes the clicking noise when you put it to the start position to eliminate the main relay. also just in case check the ecu fuse in the engine. one more thing make sure that the grounds cables aren't corroaded. hit me back to what see what happens.

p.s. becareful were the fuel is going to shoot out.

if you take the line from the bottom of the regulator fuel isnt going to shoot out of that line, its going to shoot out the regulator.

take the OUTLET line off the filter and check fuel there, if thats good, check the other end of that line, where it meets the rail. if fuel there and non passing through the rail then you have something clogging the rail. come on, no fuel diags arent hard, its a SMALL system. if the pump is putting out fuel work your way to the regulator and you will find the problem.

yea for sure! he recently replaced the fuel rail and injectors. same thing...no start!!!

and obviously i'm not stupid shardbody....it is not a large fuel delivery system. but i am looking for any and all suggestions...otherwise honda-tech wouldn't even exist...

but i do appreciate your response. i agree with you that u cant check the fuel from the back of the fpr. i did check it from the "in" side of the regulator and there was nothing!

so now i am going to have to check it from the fuel filter and so forth...

will update as soon as i check the fuel filter...

thnx again everyone!
