Get the MS3 if you ever plan on boosting since its under warranty. Or get the SI, if you like fast Daily Drivers which are reliable and last for 651651865181 years without ever really losing value.

I usually don't like when people say "use the search link" because most of the time, the OP is a noob. But haven't you been a member long enough to know that this topic has been covered too many times? No one, but you, can answer this question.

Oh Yeah! Use The Search Link!!

I had bought 07 new altima, but it gave me so much hard time to me.
Before I got my altima, I was going to get a si, but insurance was way too much.
So I decided to buy altima, but I very disapointed about my car.

So I am very careful to buy a brand new car.
I guess, i'll go for Si.

not sure...2dr or 4dr.

friend of mine bought 07si 4dr, he has same problem third gear poping out.
I dont want my brand car has problem!!! lol
by the way, my 05accord never giving me a problem at all.
during the three year, I've only spent money to get new battery.

And sorry for asking this question again here.
I will use search link next time.

but i read all of the thread from this 8th civic forum, but I couldnt find any information about comparing ms3 vs si.

Nyluder?

The Si and MS3 both have problems, the 3 has shitty motor mounts, the Si has a shitty tranny.

I really dont mind the tranny because with all the tensions mounting its only a matter of time until people get organized, I myself talked to a lawyer the other day about info on a class action

If all you want is a fast car and be able to beat most cars in that price range buy a mazda. But if you want an all around better made, value holding car with way more potencial, go with the Si. IMO. Figure you put a few $'s in a Si and you will be smokin MS3's with ease and thats without Forced Induction....imo

it'd take ALOT of cash to make an NA si beat an ms3 in a drag race, come on! put 500 into the ms3 (downpipe, race pipe, Cobb intake) and you have a car that is practically impossible for an NA si to even approach.

anyway...

SEARCH! hahahaha....

i've said plenty on this subject....and, this is the decision i made....

A few dollars was a stretch..yes but other than the fact that the ms3 is turboed, it doesnt have much going for it. The si's interior is far better, the exterior imo is also far better and the ms3 has more road noise ( the one i road in had after market wheels and tires) but i was far more impressed with the Si. Again this is only imo.

So are both of the cars yours? I actualy thought about buying the ms3, then one drive in the Si sold me. I am biased though because im a previous honda owner. Part of me would just hate the other half if i bought the ms3.

yah, i have both. the si is an 07, the ms3 is an 08. my wife drives the si, primarily, esp at this juncture. it's great for her, but i don't like it much at all at this point. i liked it alot when i first got it, but the lack of torque just frustrates me, the trans is so bothersome, the paint blows...hondas just aren't what they used to be, but i can see why you guys like the si, esp if you've not got alot of experience with the older gens.

i fell in love with the ms3's specs. i actually bought it without ever driving it, i just KNEW i'd love it, and i was right ; )

to make room for the ms3, i sold a hatch i had for 9 years...1/3 of my life i lived in that car! to me, brand loyalty is only as good as the car's being made. i'll keep my honda mower, but once the si goes...i am not sure if i'll have another honda until something changes with them.

get whatever you like, don't worry too much about people's oppinion because you'll be the one driving it. But you can't go wrong with the SI, and get a 4 dr. If u can wait for the 09 model, I say wait.

I know this is subjective but I witnessed my brother beat an MS3 equipped with a cat back exhaust in his Sedan equipped with an intake and a catback exhaust on a 60 MPH freeway roll.

The exterior styling of both vehicles are very apealing.

<TABLE WIDTH="90%" CELLSPACING=0 CELLPADDING=0 ALIGN=CENTER><TR><TD>Quote, originally posted by builthatch &raquo;</TD></TR><TR><TD CLASS="quote">hondas just aren't what they used to be, </TD></TR></TABLE>

Im sure its an effort to cut costs, especially trying to offer as much as they do for the price they sell it for. Compared to the EP3 it runs circles around it but the pricing of both are so close you wonder how they are able to do it especially in the drive train dept. I prefer the styling of the 04-05 EP3, too bad you didn't get FA5 performance.

You have to ask yourself this question; who else is offering what Honda is with relatively the same cost without forced induction or more displacement? High specific output motors cost more to produce than forced induction or more displacement.

The average consumer keeps their vehicle for 41 months. You have to examine the vehicle as a whole, not just style and performance. You have to take into account the cost of ownership. What will the insurance cost over the life of the vehcile, what will fuel costs be like, how much of your money will you get back when it's time to trade or sell, how much time will you spend getting repairs, what is the aftermarket support like and so on?

In the end you will buy what you want and listening to others to help influence your decision is really foolish.

<TABLE WIDTH="90%" CELLSPACING=0 CELLPADDING=0 ALIGN=CENTER><TR><TD>Quote, originally posted by builthatch &raquo;</TD></TR><TR><TD CLASS="quote">it'd take A LOT of cash to make an NA si beat an ms3 in a drag race, come on! put 500 into the ms3 (downpipe, race pipe, Cobb intake) and you have a car that is practically impossible for an NA si to even approach.
</TD></TR></TABLE>

The same could be said about any NA vs FI comparison. If the weight is even and the gearing is optimal for both vehicles, 250 WHP NA will be faster than 250 WHP Turbo.

DEF is subjctive; i'd say that is the extreme exception to the rule, because i can't see my si beating my ms3 in any capacity...maybe if the ms3 is caught in the wrong gear, or both are racing in the snow. someone in another thread mentioned that the si was quicker in 6th gear in the highway or something to that effect. i dispute that wholeheartedly, but even so, comparing something like that is not ideal because the ms3 can go in excess of 150mph, so it's gotta be geared accordingly, esp the last two gears. but like i said, the ms3, on the highway, in 6th, if you have to pass.....press it, spool up and GO. it's faster than the Si in 6th, but again, that is a STUPID comparison.

<TABLE WIDTH="90%" CELLSPACING=0 CELLPADDING=0 ALIGN=CENTER><TR><TD>Quote &raquo;</TD></TR><TR><TD CLASS="quote">

so honda could ideally sell their si with more displacement and turbo (and lots more power) for less OR the same money? umm, yes please! i'll take one. the high revs/no bottom rpm range torque thing is cool in a little hatch or crx i guess, but in a somewhat heavy sedan package, i'd just rather have 280ftlbs on demand. it's way more fun, and way more practical for me. maybe it's because i'm 29 and i've been through the no torque thing, but i'm over it at this stage. yes, this is a honda board, and yes i'm a mod on a honda board (two actually), and surely i'll be in the minority, but brand allegiance should not be totally blinding. if you have a personal preference, fine, but don't be ignorant to the facts. honda doesn't HAVE to have the best car JUST because you have one or it's "HONDA". Honda makes what IMO are the best mowers, they made the best economy cars, and they have great NA engine designs, but it's apparent that several other companies have taken aim at Honda and produced better performers.

<TABLE WIDTH="90%" CELLSPACING=0 CELLPADDING=0 ALIGN=CENTER><TR><TD>Quote &raquo;</TD></TR><TR><TD CLASS="quote">The same could be said about any NA vs FI comparison. If the weight is even and the gearing is optimal for both vehicles, 250 WHP NA will be faster than 250 WHP Turbo.</TD></TR></TABLE>

you took what i said out of context. i was replying to <TABLE WIDTH="90%" CELLSPACING=0 CELLPADDING=0 ALIGN=CENTER><TR><TD>Quote, originally posted by yunque5 &raquo;</TD></TR><TR><TD CLASS="quote"> Figure you put a few $'s in a Si and you will be smokin MS3's with ease and thats without Forced Induction</TD></TR></TABLE>, which isn't true.

here are the facts- the ms3 is significantly more powerful and faster in all practical driving situations (maybe the si is faster in the snow...or something), the Si is cheaper, the ms3 is WAY more limited in production, the Si is a somewhat lighter, the ms3 has significantly more interior room in all dimensions than the si with the exception of front legroom by like an inch, the ms3 has more equipment and options available

anything past that is opinion and preference. debate that, but don't argue the facts.

to anyone who is considering both cars...just go drive them both and see for yourself. asking about the cars on a honda board, in a specific technical forum for one of those cars, is not going to get you anywhere due to bias clouded by loyalty.

i have a buddy that has a ms3 and it is quick but i still love my si. Like a few ppl have said i like the si's interior, and i just like the whole package. The ms3 has the most HP in any production front wheel drive car, at least thats what they say. Seriously thou get the car you want as long your happy with is. And by the way i did beat my boys ms3, but he said his traction control came on. But have fun shopping.

I'd get the mazda. Drove my friend's mazda, and I guess it's my type of car. However I don't have a Si, but I heard the feel of Si and regular Civic is pretty much the same.
