won't rev past 7k in third gear

won't rev past 7k in third gear

98 civic B18 swap, car won't rev past 7000 rpm in third gear.
Does anyone have any ideas??
car is running a p28 chipped computer and not a P72.

so is 3rd gear the only gear that you have this problem in ?

+1 and also is that chipped p28 ecu programed for your engine setup? tuned to match your engine setup?

it's the ecu....i put in a P30 and its fine now....i know that's the incorrect unit, but the car's so already messed up im not worried,besides,it's not my car....
just needed to get ir running......

then problem solved.u already know it is caused by ecu.
