shouldnt the strut be sitting flush in that fork? The control arm is hitting the strut too? My car is not that low but something isnt right I dont think
Looks good to me, that's the way they sit on my CRX and I installed them. The shock/strut is skinny at the botton and then eventually gets bigger which stops the shock/strut from going through, plus there is a notch on the other side.

Well I ask because my car makes all kinds of grinding noise when I turn the wheel. Like metal on metal and as seen in the pic the control arm is hitting the strut/shock when I turn the wheel. My car is not even that low. You can see how low the sleeve is and my car is only this low and the tire is hitting the fender and the fender lip is cut

You're saying your control arm is hitting....but theres no picture of the control arm....Do you mean the knuckle which IS IN the pic?

what type and size tire do you have? some brands and size can cause rubbing on the fender. as for the strut, there is only one way to install it into the fork. from looking at the picture, i don't see anything that would looking they are touching. everything seesm fine.
i would looking into maybe a bad tie rod, ball joint, or if you have coilovers, raising the car alittle more.

between where the shock slides into the fork, if you can close the gap on that, then the part you highlighted in red will not hit nemore which may be causing your problem. definately take the shock and fork out and examine to see if it can sit down a lil further which i am positive it will

ok so unless i was sold the wrong ones, there is a lip on the bottom of #3 that wont let the strut slide further into the fork unless I spread the fork out a lot and hope it slides down.
found it 92-00 honda civic

i dont remember, I ordered them a long time ago but I would imagine it was for 96-00 civic. I just dont get why I hear grinding noises (metal on metal) when I turn and my car is not even that low. Plus the tire hits the fender where the lip would be, but my lip is cut

Well what is your model originally? Reason I ask is maybe you need bigger forks like the 99-00 Si if your car isn't already the Si.

What letters are printed on the front of your forks?
The Si should say: JL (left) and (JR) right.

The width of the bottom fork prongs is wider on the Si but the opening for the strut is the same. I know it's a son of a bitch to do, but the strut should be sitting flush with the fork, so there should be no gap there like there is. I had to take everything off the car to get both front struts completely in the forks.
This doesn't explain the grinding though. If something is in fact grinding, you should see where it left marks.
