So i decided to take in my car for a smog before the registrations up and it turns out that the d16z6 isnt smog legal according to the smog technician. I searched and couldn't find any threads that agrees with what happened to me. Can someone help me out here? I don tknow what to do, from what a lot of people posted the complete d16z6 with obd I conversion is legal. HELP!!! Its my daily.

But honestly... alot of people speak out of their *** in here... its really easy to get some bad advice.

 

It should be legal if you have a P28, all OBD-1 emissions and evaporative controls, etc etc. Did you just pop in the D16Z6 and call it a day?

 

The engine also can't be older than your original one.

 

In order to pass imissions your engine code needs to match your shell or b a stock replacement in some states. Others as long as its an obd1 motor in an obd1 car Obd2 in an ob2 car... It will pass with no engine codes.
