Default Does Kelly Blue Book price preludes right?

I know this isnt much of a tech question, but hoping some luders can help me. I have a very low mileage 5th gen and i dont know how to find the value for it besides KBB, but i know there is no way it would sell priced that high. What should i do.

edit: probably keeping it

I actually thought that the kbb value of preludes are pretty low . A lot are selling for 6k now. Too many ricers are getting a hold of them lol.

KBB overprices them IMO.. I can find ludes under KBB all day long w/o trouble... trade-in value would be what i would expect to pay

realistically that probably means 10k maybe a bit more.. i got a 74k clean title lude w/ a few minor issues for under what you'd think would be a very very low ball offer.

edmunds.com is usually pretty accurate.

check edmunds, nada and kbb. they each have different ways of collecting statistics.
and 13k seems very high for a private party sale to me, i could see that for maybe a 20k mile lude at a dealer....

paid $5K for a 98 in May 07 with 110K. Then again, I struck gold and not too many people will come up on a deal like that.

Last weekend, picked up a mint condition 97 Base with 150K for 4900. Included a new timing belt and clutch. Although, the EGR light has come on occasionally.

Picked up my 98 base auto, 130k for $1,250. Guy thought the engine was blown, lucky for me, it wasn't. Broken crank pulley bolt. $13k seems high to me. I have heard mixed opinions on KBB. I have seen some lowballed figures and some overpriced.

You can usually find ludes for cheaper that KBB price. But start it out high and begin lowering it after a week or two of not selling. besides, there are numerous places that you can post to sell it: local newspaper, autotrader.com, hondatech.com, preludepower.com, socalprelude.com, ebay(not recommended). etc..

Preludes have the biggest difference between manual and auto trans value that I have seen. $13K does seem a bit high if I am assuming that low miles on the car means 60-80K, but it seems that every time I find that 5th gen for $5-6K it is a car I wouldnt touch with a ten foot pole because the former owner was a total ricer. I have seen that on average a 5th gen has about 110K miles, 1 dent, and the owner wants $7500.

I paid about $3k under KBB for my 99 Prelude I just bought about 6 weeks ago. I shopped around and found that most that were listed that low were riced out and had a handful of problems. I was very happy to get my car which is VERY clean for the price I did with low miles. I would start off by listing your car about $1000 to $1500 under KBB and then go from there. Patience is the name of the game with selling cars...
