As long as your CR isn't too far from stock and your tune is good, there's no reason why you wouldn't pass the tailpipe test. I passed BAR inspection with Wiseco flat tops (about 9.4:1 CR in a B18B) with no problems. Inspection was done with the turbo off(obviously) on a stock ECU.
