lift throttle oversteer
ok so today i traded my ek coupe for a ek hatch they both have s2 full coilovers on them but the hatch seems to want to lift throttle and trail brake oversteer much more so than my coupe did. also i was messing around in the parking lot at work (its a big lot with loading docks) and decided to see how well the ebrake works and the thing just snapped on me i was able to recover it quickly but it was still a little startling considering how easy the coupe was to control entering and exiting a slide. now the hatch has a strut tower brace and i didnt know if it should make a huge difference like it feels like it has and also does the hatch have shorter wheelbase that would contibute to this ?
the rear of a hatch weighs less than the rear of a coupe.
less weight = faster transitions
less weight = less traction
it could also be a balance issue, corner weighting may solve it.

yeah there is a civic Si rear sway bar, the front strut tower brace, it has 15" rota slipstreams with 205's on them. the coupe had just the coil overs and some shitty 175's on 14s
Just some thoughts
what model was the coupe? one thing to remember is that the EX/HX both came with 22mm front sway bars whereas no hatches came with a front bar.
the 13mm si rear bar doesnt add too much in the way of actual roll resistance, its been a while since i did the math on it but IIRC it was worth about 120lbs/in at the rear spring. enough to make a difference, but not super significant.
how does the alignment look, toe out in particular?

The coupe was the HX in my signature and the alignment is/was fine on both cars. i dont remember whether or not the hatch has the Si front sway bar also, i'll ask my friend i got it from. oh and one thing i forgot to mention is the hatch has a rear disc conversion the HX had the stock drums.
