Recently got my car done and it's extemely dusty. I want to wash, when should i be able to wash it? it was done from the shop saturday but got it yesterday.

i know to use only water and soft brushes and microfiber towels. whats a good car soap to use with out damaging the paint? and the main question can i wash it now? or wait?

 

you should wait...at least give it a month or so...its still fresh paint...if it was baked then maybe less than a month...but still wait...you dont want to ruin a fresh paint job...

Let it sit in the sun for a bit to be on the safe side. Wash with a wash mit and a wash and wax liquid car soap. Don't ever touch your car's paint with a brush, especially a black car!

 

You'll be fine to wash it. Even if it wasn't baked as long as it sat overnight you can wash it the next day.

 

Yeah, I see the workers washing the car when it's ready to go home. So I don't know. I'm gonna wait until Saturday to give it a good wash. Need to pick up some good cleaning rags and mit.

I can't wax until 60 days, so what's a good car soap with no wax and wont hurt the paint?

 

Yeah use an actual carwash solution. Buy some microfiber towels and blot it dry. You can actually wax after 30 days that is the general rule of thumb. Anything before that there's a chance you can trap solvents in before the paint is fully cured.

Use a PH Balanced car wash liquid...Meguiars Gold Class car wash liquid would be my choice and the car is ok to wash as soon as its out of the booth and equalized to the surrounding temperatures. As for the wax generally its a 90 day window but it depends on the local climate, hotter climates itd be less time, colder more time....a good indication as to when its ok to wax is when water is poured on the car and it sheets off as opposed to beading on the surface then its ok to wax, but if it beads DO NOT WAX

 

Yep you can wash right away, hours after it it was baked. Just don't let water dry on the surface, you'll get water spots, especially if you have hard water.

 

Wash it right away. We wash them before they even leave the shop after we paint them. As far as waxing goes, you should wait a 6 month period before you put on your first coat of wax to be safe. Wash in the shade, not in the direct sun and maybe in the late evening when it's cooler.

 

Since, I'm using it more as my daily now, dirt is just catching on it. I wont be able to do it until the weekend anyway. I can't do it now cause the weather is to hot and the water my dry faster on it, so I'm gonna wait until saturday morning.

Can't wait to see the actual paint job, NHBP is so awesome when cleaned.

Can mud splashes ruin the paint job? I hate to throw on the splash guards too and ruin the paint.

If you're gonna wax (and I would) use a breathable wax. I usually use Race Glaze as it works really well and is made to use on fresh paint. Also I use Wizards. Wizards makes a polish for fresh paint also.

Both work better than having nothing on and just washing it.
