Default ANOTHER MPFI QUESTION

ok... i know what you guys are thinking... another noob that didn't do his research... ok... i am another noob but this isn't the same question as everybody else... i just want to know if anybody has every tried plugging up the SI harness to the DX dash harness? is there really that big of a difference in the harnesses? i mean... can't you just move the two wires and add the two that are needed and everything should be plug n' play right? i know everybody says to just cut it up and splice em but i just don't want to rule it out and cut up a perfectly good harness before actually making sure...

I'm sure someone has already thought of that, tried it, and deemed it
an inappropriate method of conversion.

-But if not, you could try it and report back your findings

they are way different. You will have to repin most of the wires on the strut towers and it wont add the extra wires that you need to the inside of the car. It's easier to convert the dx harness to SI. And don't forget about the wiring changes at the ECU.

there is no way around the mpfi conversion unless you swap to the si interior and exterior harness.

just to let you guys know... it wouldn't fit like oem because the stock dx harness had extra wires on the plug above the shock tower... so the plug ended up being bigger than the si harness.. yeah.. i just didn't want to deal with finding out what goes to what and what belongs where...
