Default Timing belt on 98 accord EX coupe

Hi,

Does anyone knows when the timing belt on a 98 accord EX coupe(6 cyl)
needs to be replace. I know that the 4 cyl needs replacement at around
95K. The owners manual for the 6 cyl does not mention a replacement
period.
Thanks,
F

The owner's manual for my '99 says that the timing belt should be changed at 105,000 miles or seven years - and of course your car is ten years old.

The only difference in maintenance between I4 and V6 engines is that, in '99, the I4 needed spark plug's replaced every 30,000 miles / 24 months while the V6 spark plugs are due to be replaced at 105,000 miles / 84 months. I believe it was '00 when spark plug changes went to 105,000 miles on the I4's.

although the manual states 105K, I have had A LOT of dealers tell me and my friends whom own(ed) V6 accord say you can do it at 120K

Does the same apply to the 4-cylinder? I have a 2000 Accord LX coupe 2.3L.

My mechanic in Washington, DC gave me an estimate for $886 to install a timing belt kit, and I'm thinking of getting it done in Minnesota when I drive there in two months, along with other various repairs (total cost = $2100 here in DC). My current mileage is 107K.

Thanks
