Default mini-me swap Won't Start!

1997 civic ex 5speed coupe
My friend threw a rod bearing and bought a z6 engine with Y8 head
it's obd2 car with obd1 engine.

we used ob2 injectors and obd1 ecu with a conversion harness.

it powers up. the fans work. When we try to start it, the starter clicks, but the motor won't turn over.

My friend says he saw sparks by the battery ground cable.

He swears he hooked up the starter correctly.

should we be using the obd2 starter? What should we check?

thanks

Okay, it wasn't cranking b/c the starter wasn't grounded. It is now.

The motor turns, but won't fire.
I don't smell any burnt fuel.
I think I know why: there are two wires on the distributor that aren't connected to anything.

he cut the obdII engine harness and hard-wired it to the obdI distributor wires, two wires were left over.
I believe they are for a crank position sensor.

what should we do with these wires, and why won't it fire up|?

(97 civic ex 5speed, with D15b/z6 mini-me. using ex Injectors, obdI dizzy, P28 ECU with conversion harness)

well your ICM wont work without A crank pos sens or a TDC sens so you need to figure out your pinouts on your ecu for those and run them or search in here for the OBD conversion threads
what color are the wires?
