Default clutch issue

just recently my clutch has started making a whining sound when engaging from a stop. sounds like when you lick ur finger and run it on some rubber, nothing feels diff in the pedal but im not sure if i should be worried or not.

it could be the pucked clutch on the fly that you hear...
do you feather the clutch or do you "dump" it? <--hope you understand that
i know that my action 2MD (6 puck unsprung) has chatter and makes some crazy noises if i feather it...
don't know if that is common or not...
not trying to jack but...
Need more Input on that one
where is rota at??? he loves the 2MD....
he might have some better advice

rota's at work.

Yes we had the 2MD action, also had a Exedy which was fine I think there was one other that I put in the yellow car too.

I have a Spec 2+ in my 05 Subaru Legacy GT and like it.

Sounds like OP has a couple of issues.

HG leaking oil ?

Needs to tare down his engine?

ya i have him in the PM's... kinda lol
i like the 2MD but this is the first time that i have had a 6 puck (or any puck for that matter) and it's unsprung (first time as well). so i don't know what is acceptable noise and whats not.

I drove it a little with the 2MD and didn't notice any noise. But the car wasn't that quiet anyways.

I would think if it's too loud with the radio playing then you have something to woory about...

Drive it and listen I would think it some other then the clutch.

it's most defiantly chatter
it will only do it when the clutch is released in neutral
if i engage it will go away but i don't want to hold the clutch in all the time.

do you mean rear main seal?

oil can get anywhere
it is possible its a rear main seal leak BUT he said it needed a head gasket if im not mistaken?
oil on your clutch will make it squeak like that.
but you have a good point on the rear main seal
how much oil are you actually leaking?

1) theres the red valve cover, then the head whick the headers come out of. its leaking where the head connects to the block, all the way around, about a quart a week or more

1.5) i already ordered the gasket, how hard is it to change it?

((((i had this prob witht my jeep i had before this car, caused by seafoam breaking down the gasket cause i didnt change my oil after))))

2)and im throwing two codes... vtec solenoid, and fuel system, 21 and 43 according to the cel list on here.

3) im pretty sure it has to do with the solenoid, but before when i hit 5g the car hit kinda like a power ban (like on a dirt bike), it was very distinct in the sound and the pedal, now it doesnt have that kick anymore.

so im thinkin.. change the gasket and oil, get a new fuel filter, and a new solenoid????

holy **** dude thats so much oil!

do your best to stay OUT of vtec
and it probably wont engage vtec due to lack of oil pressure
the solenoid code, that could just be the wire
what ecu do you have?
