Has anyone done custom door pods on 5th gens? Considering the door only allows 5.25 speakers and the depth is limited due to the window and rail. Anyone have pictures of a door pod. I play with fiberglass , planning on making a pod. Just trying to get some ideas. I just picked up some 6.50 speakers but I also was thinking of using my 5.25 speakers as well as I have the power to run both up front.

 

I don't have pictures, but I cut into the speaker grill and mounted my 6.5" drivers in it. I glassed only the back of the speaker grill for more support but didn't enclose the driver. If I would have made an enclosure, it would've sounded better.

 

I bought Kicker KS-Series 6" component speakers, and they matched the OEM ones' size and fit perfectly, and I was able to still use the OEM speaker grilles (I threw away the Kicker ones). I bought them at Circuit City for $199.99 last October, but they are now $149.99.
