3rd Gen vs. 2nd Gen
I drive a 96 GSR, I love the car, but it costs a lot of money since I'm young. I also have a love for 2nd Gen integras, its something about the way they look. I have never driven one, but from what I can figure, they must have a different feel b/c of their cable trannys. I really don't care about how fast they are stock b/c anything is possible with hybrids, but what I want to know is would a 2nd gen ever be able to compete against 3rd gens in handleing? Are the advancements from the g2 to the g3 integras really so advanced?
Besides the fact that Jackson Racing doesn't make a supercharger kit for a G2, the G2 has just as much potential as the G3 as far as performance goes. And I think I can give an unbiased opinion, because I have also owned 95 Integra. I like the feel of the G2, because it feels like you're sitting lower in the car.
actually, I like the G2 way more than the G3's They just look lower, sleeker....I'll own one someday
but i see no problem getting a G2 to perform as good or better than a G3, Luckily the aftermarket for Honda/Acuras is huge, just do your research and I'm sure you'll find something to your liking.

I drive a gen2, and know ppl who have gen3's. ITR not included, most ppl prefer the gen2's for the look and the sportier feel. I'm not sure but when driving both the Gen2 feels like it has a wider wheelbase, better handling, and they are lighter. Only thing I dont like is the automatic seatbelts, but that can be fixed by picking up the JDM manual seatbelt kit. Performance wise they are the same as long as you dont mind not being able to use a JRSC. Altho I think vortech makes a kit for the gen2, but I could be wrong.
You're the first persons I've seen who prefers a 2G over a 3G.
DeeSeeToo: go to G2IC.com
to learn about G2s more. The only thing i hate about G2s is that they don't have as much aftermarket support as G3s and up. But that's when you'll see creativity like this home made c-pillar bar made by a G2IC member...
I hate auto seatbelts too. I plan to get some canadian spec belts
.As far as handling, i never drove a G3 integra so i wouldn't know but as for speed, both can be equally fast.

I know that g2s can be just as fast as 3rd gens. What I want to know is if both gens ultimatly end up the same in the handeling aspect.
I have to going to g2ic.com, I actually liked the g2s before the g3s, but I bought a 3rd gen
, now, I am rethinking it.

I have never really been bothered by the auto seatbelts, but now that I hear of them, I too would like to get some. I have never sat in a G3, so my opinion is a bit biased.
I love the way my car feels, it definitly feels low, and it is very predictable in handling. I wish there was more room in the engine bay, I hate leather, but I can live with it to have this car.

Well it's been decided, in the last 3 days i've dropped about 800 more dollars into my 3rd gen, that bumps up to the total to whole lot. I guess I'm gonna keep my 3rd gen and maybe in the future pick up a 2nd gen when I get tired of mine.
I absolutly HATE those mouse runner power seatbelts!
They are just annoying and really the only problem I have with my car.
Oh yea, and the motors for those bastards probably weigh at least 50 pounds!
JonsteR do you know where I could get a set of Japanese or Canadian spec manual belts?
Is there an actual kit that removes the power belts so you don't get the flashing seat-belt light?

I have a g2, love it. The only problem is once you get over 100k (which most of them have) stuff starts to break.
But of course , any car that has higher milage has the same problems.

not all G2 tegs come with auto seatbelts, my '91 GS came with just regualr belts
G2's are far better in my opinion, little 4 eyed integra's just dont cut it

but IMO 3rd gens by far have better aesthetics
