Default Help diagnose this plug, and possible problem.

I have a 00 EM1. I have been having this problem with cyl 2 for awhile now I can figure it out. Lets start off... Compression is like 210, 205, 210, 210. I burn about a quart of oil every couple weeks. I can a build up of nasty *** black **** on my bumper all the time. I can tell if its carbon or oil. I shoot black smoke sometimes and blueish smoke in the high rev's. I have to change the #2 plug about once a month. All other plugs look normal. This plug is only about a month old. Any ideas?

Ive looked at a couple of those "help to read you plugs" pics but I can seem to distinguish which one it is.

I would say either overheated or insulator glazing.

Either way I'm looking at extra heat. What might cause this?

Maybe ignition timing is too advanced?

Any mods other than some basic IHE kind of stuff? I'd do a leak down test, and check to make sure one of the cams hasn't slipped a tooth. Sounds like you probably have an issue with the valve seals.

Just I/H/E. Leak down teat is next on my list. Not all of my plugs are like that. The other 3 are normal. I will check the cams. Valve seals makes since, with the oil consumption issue and blue smoke as well. Thanks for the good help so far.
