I've searched and haven't found a DIY guide, is there one out there and I'm not catching it in the search?

I found the ones that refer to other sites and give price estimations, what transmissions to use etc, but then it says they had a mechanic do it. I want to try this as I don't want to have some other person man handle my car.

I think an auto-to-manual tranny swap is too labor-intensive to be put into a DIY. Other than lists of parts and tips, I haven't found any DIY guide either.

I'm having a shop handle my swap (in the very near future).

 

its almost the same for a 4th gen. actually easier for a 5th gen if anything.

A write up isn't really necessary if you have the service manual.
