is it worth it to get a CTR head and get rid of my si head ?
I saw a b16b for sale on local craigslist complete with intake manifold, cams, etc. The head was pulled from a running motor and has been sitting in storage for about a year or so.
The valve cover is cracked a bit on the cam gear side and one of the valve cover bolts is missing. I took the bolt off because it broke while putting the valve cover back on.
My question is
since I only have a B16A2 head on my 99 si, is this worth it to buy this head for $500 and sell my a2 head for the same price?
cos if it is a real CTR head, it's factory PnP, w/ the CTR cam, valvetrain.......
and is this CTR head the same as the ITR head?
I'm tryin to make a Poor man's type R

what cond. is the CTR head in???? no bent vavles, damaged cams, all the cambers in good cond????, does it have real CTR cams( did you check the cam ends markings on the dizzy side to see what cams they are?) if you need a b series cam guide, on what cams are what, I can email you one when I get to the pad. just pm me. and don't jump and just buy it, it mite not be a real CTR head, and valve train, you have to check it out plp try rip plp off all the time. there is a reason that it's that cheap. check it out and get back to me. latz (always willing to help out)
is it this one? http://www.hondamarketplace.co...55160
if it's real, i think it's worth it.
otherwise, i've got a b16b (Civic Type R) head... comes with (a somewhat bare) CTR intake manifold (no fuel rail or injectors)... no distributor, no cams/cam gears (unless you want JDM GSR ones), no throttle body. PM me back if you're interested. head has had new valve seals installed recently... hasn't been used since!!!

$500? Seems a little low. Make sure everything is actually CTR ****. Because people usually sell the cams alone for $300. I'm not sure what the stamp is for a CTR head. PR3-4? Make sure the cams have the "double ring" Make sure it does have the dual valve springs. Check to see if any valves looked fucked up. The price does seem a little low though. People sell B16A heads for almost that price.
Now you just need a B18C block

Of course it will fit. Its the same head essentially (PR3). Yeah the CTR is basically an ITR with a 77.4mm crank, different pistons, and longer rod length.
