Who would be interested in a CF Trunk for 94+ 2dr?
Hello guys, I know I'm not that known on here, but I have a friend who knows this who does incredible Carbon Fiber work. I know of 2 full CF widebody kits he has made for bmw m3s. Also many CF hoods too for BMWs. He mainly does BMW work, but my friend was talking to him and he said if there is enough demand for something in carbon fiber he will make it. This guy is a perfectionist, so quality will be top notch.
Who would be seriously interested in this if I could have it made? I'm not sure on price yet, but my friend told me he has very competitive prices.

Where is the Carbon Fiber specialist located?
There is a project I am working on and I'd like to make the finished product out of CF instead of fiberglass.
He sounds like someone I should get in contact with.
Thank you!

I'm very sorry to say that CF seems to get over used now a day. CF hood is used for saving weight. What is a CF bodykit going to save you other than crack easily? And OEM trunk doesn't weight that much anyway.
CF is incredibly useful for many applications that require a high strength/weight ratio. But as you have pointed out, if manufactured incorrectly, CF is subject to impact fractures.
The many thicknesses and weaves of CF as well as the higher quality prepreged cloth allow for great customizing of the final product.
For my diffuser project I think Kevlar (more impact resistant) would be better suited than CF, which in turn is better suited than fiberglass, yet some of the techniques used to manufacture CF and Kevlar peices are prohibitive to someone like me.
Fiberglass on the other hand is relatively inexpensive and convenient to work with.
