I bought a 97 Integra LS. It was a flood title, and i drained the transmission and put new fluids in. The car starts and runs fine, just a high idle. Haven't adjusted the idle yet (CEL 07), but when we put it in gear. It starts off in 2nd (maybe/not really sure) and it's verty doggy. When it shifts into the next gear, the tach is @ 4.5k-5k. When i put it into any gear (Reverse,Neutral,D4,D3,2,1) the D4 light on the cluster housing is blinking.

I was told by a mechanic that looked at it, that it could possibly be the VSS.
Was also told by a friend that the VSS wouldn't effect the transmission like that.

If anyone knows what the problem is or has experienced this with an AUTO, fill me in.

 

im not sure what the problem could be but i know your starting on 2nd

 

get a flush done, autos are sensative to fluid issues

was thinking deeply into this problem, and i remembered that there is a computer/relay w.e you wanna call it for the automatic transmission. :D i got a new one and it fixed the problem :D runs great now.

 

i had this problem on my first car it was a cl with auto tranny.. d4 will blink and wouldnt change gear. i had to replace shifting solenoid and had to rebuilt the tranny ended me costing 750 with all of those things rebuilt 500 and solenoid 250. i did the labor my self its easy.. just get it checked before you do anything to it if you dont know for sure the problem. but the check your tranny, if the shifting solenoid went bad it could had been making damage to the torque converter too, if it feels rough when shifting gears. well thats what i know.. hope no more tranny problems.
