Need Help: Rear Motor Mount Change
I am trying to replace my worn rear motor mount and damn... this ***** a bitch.
I got all the bolt off but i cant seem to weasle the bracket out of there, i left my car on the lift so i could work on it tomorrow. Its at a DIY shop...
So i have access to whatever i need to make it work..
What should i do?

I have always lifted the motor out a little bit. Of course I only worry about this when I have at least the tranny out. I am sure it will help others if you give them the year and model.
I alway remove the front lower torque mounts so I can swing the motor forward. Having someone to help makes it easier. Otherwise you have one arm to hold the motor forward and the other arm to try and manipulate the bracket into position.
Dont remove the pass mount along with the torque mounts unless you have the motor supported! You could use a engine hoist to support the engine then remove the mounts.
Also loosen the bolt but dont remove on the drivers side mount so you dont rip the mount.
Taking the pass mount off along with the torque mounts would allow more movement of the engine making the rear bracket install easier.
Be careful!

I have a transmission jack i use to support the engine.. It makes it real easy to maneuver the engine up and down...
I would use it to support the engine.
If i used a hoist, where would i lift the motor at?

There is a bolt hole in the backside of the head on the drivers side and a bracket on the transmission. If you hook up at these to points it should evenly distribute the weight of the motor. Sorry, cant find pics.

Got it..
Thanks to some knowlegdeable assistance from a good employee at the shop..
I didnt even have to jack up the engine..
Heres what i did...
1. Remove cat and header
2. Remove intake
3. Remove all bolts from the top side of the actual mount (Swivel sockets)
4. Remove all the metal bracket bolts and from there it just took some pushin' and squeezing with the hoses back there and it all came out..
5. I also removed the bolt to that black pvc box thingy so it could flex
Also its a good idea when putting back the mount to leave it real loose so when you put back the rear bracket it will be easy to maneuver them together, then tighten the actual mount last...
