HELP! I cant install my Apexi WS2 catback exhaust
Well, I bought a new Apexi WS2 catback exhaust, but the problem is my catalytic converter is too short. I had a problem with my OEM cat before, so i got it replaced with a Magnaflow cat that i got welded on. Problem is, the Magnaflow cat I have turns out to be a lot shorter than the OEM cat. Thus, fitment with the catback will be a few inches off.
Do I have any alternatives besides getting a new catalytic converter? I looked/called a bunch of junkyards today but no one has them.

the muffler shop will just weld in a length of pipe to connect to the cat. check around, even a lot of little hole in the wall small town shops do exhaust work

thanks for the input guys.. nate_2k5 i was actually thinking that... but i was wondering, wud they be able to weld a pipe between the headers and the catalytic converter?

I made this diagram... is this possible? a welded pipe between the headers and the catalytic converter to make up for the original length on an OEM cat. and the rest would be the bolt on exhaust. success?

blox adjustable test pipe!! takes care of all you problems.
anyway, it would be okay to weld before or after the cat. I just wouldn't cut into the actual apex piping.

naah no test pipes... i dont want any trouble when getting my car inspected and also cause I don't want my exhaust to be loud.
muffler shop can take care of it for sure....
i had a rsr exmag just the muffler alone for a 4 door, used a comptech midpipe, and they had to custom some stuff since it was not for a 2 door, and for some reason the resonator hung very low so they cut that section and just welded another pipe in its place.

you know what would fit in that area? a flex pipe. that is if you want one. if not, do what everyone else says, just get a shop that does some welding to put a pipe there.

and yeah i asked my cousin who is a genius and he said the same thing. he said the headers are made of a material that isnt good to weld on.

Wow I have the exact same problem down to the WS2 and everything. I bought my car a couple months ago and got under it a couple weeks ago to do the same thing and found out i had an aftermarket cat that was too short.
I was going to just buy a test pipe, but if welding a piece is cheaper, I'd like to know if its possible to cut and weld the thick gnarley piping apexi uses? cause they're going to have to cut off the flange on the piping to do weld.

You like my diagrams? haha... I'm going to the muffler shop tomorrow so I'll let you know how it goes. I was thinking the same thing regarding the thick *** Apexi piping (which is good) whether they would be able to cut it or whatever.

i went to a ton of junkyards today and called a bunch of people from different honda forums, including craigslist. unfortunately no one had one that they were selling. the aftermarket cat i have right now is a magnaflow and hasnt given me problems in the 2 years ive had it.

so i just got back from the muffler shop... they didnt cut the flanges off the apexi piping. The piping is so thick that i think doing so would have just damaged the piping. they just welded another pipe onto the b-pipe and that was that. it was a real tough job though and something you needed a lift to do. not something you can just pull off in 2 hours in your garage. i paid $100 dollars by the way if anyone is curious and it took about an hour an 20 minutes.
