Default F23 swap while keeping H22 trans - possible?

So i've been looking into getting a honda accord ex 4cyl.. fuel economy is good.. performance is okay.

I like the prelude.. the power.. but not the gas mileage..
At the same time i do not really have the knowledge or time to do a hybrid motor build.. turbo.. tuning ( i'm in california ), etc so i'd like to stick with all stock honda parts and not have to tear apart a motor.

so im' wondering if i could either:

a. get an accord EX 2.3 and swap in a H22 transmission.
b. get a prelude and swap in an accord EX motor.

What would be involved in swapping these?

Why not find an accord with a manual transmission?

My H22 lude with the base model, F22 transmission gets almost 34mpg on the highway, and about 27 or so combination city/highway.

switched_in_your_eye: of course i'm gonna get a manual transmission. I never mentioned an auto.
Giant_Bean: are you kidding me? that's nuts. Maybe i should just get a prelude then. The accord and prelude run on the same friggin' platform anyways, don't they? HMM.....

the idea of a prelude that gets the mileage of an accord ( well, out of vtec anyways ;] ) is pretty appealing.

anyways, in doing transmission swaps.. is it just swapping the transmission and saying have a nice day.. or are there different clutch master cylinders and such?

It does drop out of the powerband between 1st and 2nd, but the gas mileage makes up for it. If you can find a 4th gen base model lude, get the transmission out of it, they usually go pretty cheap becuase no one wants them. All the hydraulics are the same, and they just bolt up like any of the H series transmissions.
I think part of the reason I get such good mileage is the prospeed ecu I have, I'm saving up for Hondata, but until then, it's what I have.
