Anyone seafoamed their s2000 yet?
I'm about to reach my 60k mark and was wondering have anyone seafoamed their s2k yet, I've read some owners have and they are happy with the results like the car felt more preppy and throttle response was good that's after changing spark plugs and oil of course.
snake oil?
they recommend it to put in your crank case, gas tank and thru the brake booster neck, if they came out with something that great, it will not be in autozone selling for five bucks.
honda sells a upper engine cleaner in the part department, check them out

seafoam worked wonders on my prelude. I did it about every 15k miles, and it always blew alot of smoke and felt great after.
I did it once when I got the S, but only thru pcv line and not the gas or oil. I was also more worried about the S being a much more expensive motor than the prelude, so I only put in a tiny bit (1/4 cup maybe... maybe less). it blew no smoke and felt no different.
I'd be careful about putting alot in ur oil. it thins the oil and that could be bad with our high rpms. they recommend putting it in, driving ur car like u stole it, then changing the oil... but id be a little afraid to go near 9k with thinned out oil.

i was also told that you need to replace your sparkplugs after you seafoam because your gonna burn the hell out of them...i ono...there was a process on how to do it the correct way...someone correct me if i'm wrong...

i actually did it to my ap1 when i had it (mine had 110k when i traded it in)
you should replace your spark plugs as all the carbon gunk can and will foul up the plugs from the degunking process. I just ran like maybe 1/4 bottle thru the pcv line. car ran better... not a WHOLE lot better but it did feel smoother/quieter. it's not the first car i've run it on so i'm used to the results

seafoam works great. i have used it in the past and it always makes a big difference.(have not on used it my ap1) and honda does have top engine cleaner and it also work really good. so either one, but seafoam costs less.

i agree... it can be used through your fuel system, your oil, and your intake system... i would rather put the money into the honda cleaner. Although, if you change your oil often enough, you'll have no issues with gunk! The two times i've had to pull apart my motors, there has never been any gunk or burnt oil! I'd be more worried about carbon build up on the pistons!

well thats why you use it thru your intake system, so it can get to the valves/pistons and clean any carbon buildup. thats why you have all the smoke when you restart the engine.

well the thing is that I know it would foul up my spark plugs so that's another $80 i have to spend on plugs and there is no honda top end cleaner anymore as it is discontinued. I just want to clear up some of the carbon through the intake hose so that way there won't be carbon build up as it ages. Iono I guess I will wait

Seafoam is ok but....ijust did a Terraclean service to my car yesterday and it is the sh*t, pretty cool stuff basically it is a modified gasoline that runs on a special machine. You have to disable your fuel pump, pinch off the return line, remove the feed line and hook up the machine to the car, you dial in the fuel pressure start the car and let it run until the car stalls ..it ran on mine for over an hour @ 2K rpms had a special tool hold the throttle. shure it takes awhile and is a bitch removing the rear tray to unplug the fuel pump. oh it is a little $$$
the product itslef is about $45-$50 then labor is on a s2k around $125-$150 .
But when it is finished even the tailpipe is clean on the inside.

the stuf works pretty good, and honda does a seafoam treatment called a "carbon treatment" at most dealerships.

common sense is required when putting liquid into vacuum lines, motor starts to stumble a little bit just back off the tube inside the cab and throttle it a little bit. I dont see how people hydro lock motors from sea foam you have to be retarded. the motor will tell you when its ingested enough by the way it runs.
terraclean looks cool, how good does it work?

seafoam can be hard because the idle jumps all around if you dont have someone there to help by revving it. i always just pinch the vac line to restrict the air it can pull in and itll idle steady at about 1500 rpm. its real easy to put in then without doin too much at once.
