Default ? about painting chrome trim on car.

Hey guys/gals,

I have an Accord, which i will post a pic so you can see the molding i am talking about.

On the trim pieces that run around all my windows on my car are chrome trim, I was thinking on sanding these down and priming these so i could paint these black, is there any special way i should prepare these to paint for example stripping these or sanding to prime. Should they hold paint well?

Hopefully you can see the trim that i want to paint lack.

Also the front grill is that plastic chrome stuff what would be the ideal way to sand and paint black?

Thank you for your help.

Scuff it with 600 or 800, prime it, sand the primer smooth and apply whatever paint your heart desires. Other than being a tedious, pain in the rear project you should be good to go.

Don't forget to mask off the surrounding areas or you'll have some big blind spots in your windows...lol

Use a good primer or they will start chipping/peeling.
