Tanabe TEAS vs. Tein EDFC

TEAS stands for "Tanabe Electric Active Suspension" and is the counterpart of the new Sustec Pro SEVEN suspension. This compact unit is the 'brain' behind the highly sophisticated new Tanabe suspensions. TEAS is a fully programmable dampener controller that allows for dampening force to be automatically adjusted while driving. TEAS accomplishes this by connecting and using the signal from the vehicle's Speed Sensor.
Remote dampening control from within the vehicle is not a new concept by any means. In fact, many Japanese vehicles from the 1980's including the FC3S RX-7 and MA70 Supra had buttons to change dampening from "Normal" to "Sport." Unlike other controllers that are simply an update of this older 'analog' technology, TEAS is a much larger step towards highly digital advanced suspension control and tuning through it's speed sensing "Active Mode."
TEAS active dampening control is uniquely possible due to the use of the specialized valving of the SEVEN, in conjunction with TEAS' slim, high speed actuators. These actuators change dampener settings in 1/100ths of a second, which is necessary as TEAS can continuously change settings at different speeds.

Tein introduces the EDFC(Electronic Damping Force Controller). This unit is used with the Type FLEX systems. You can change damping force from inside the car. Features include 3 programable presets, front and rear seperate adjustability, 16 levels of damping force to 32. The EDFC unit is 1/4 DIN and black-lit.
Note: For Type FLEX System only.
opinions/comments/feedback
Both are good, reputable, and popular companies in Japan.
EDFC's alright. Never been lazy enough (even when faded) to drop cash for something that takes 10 seconds.
IMO,
Tein started it,
Tanabe put some effort into it; trying hard to prove they didn't mimic the EDFC.

x2.
Lots of buzzwords. Comedy gold.
I'd rather have to manually adjust my good dampers than have crappy dampers that adjust themselves.
