Default benefits of window tint

lately i have been thinking about getting my windows tinted. I have a black 07 4 door si (black interior) But I have a couple questions about tint and the benefits of it.

1. does tint really help keep the interior cooler (restricting UV rays)
2. tint law in my state (nc) is 35 % will people still be able to see me inside? i just dont care for gauckers... i know in good lookin and all.... or maybe its just that bugger hanging out my nose!

any info would be great. thanks

Good to see another person living in Charlotte!

Tint is functional, yes. Many people will tell you its not, and that it actually traps heat, these people are morons. It'll reduce the temperature of your car on really hot sunny days, and it'll also protect your interior from fading.

35% is the law for the front windows here, but you can get away with an even lower tint. Char-Meck popo don't really care unless its SUPER dark.

I have like 32% or 30% on my front and 20ish% on my rears. Its dark enough where people won't be able to see details in your car, but will be able to see that you're inside it. You can see inside my car from the front windows, you can't really from the back.

Heres some pics. Unfortunately I got in a wreck on 77 so my cars looking janky right now...

Also, from inside the car, you can see fine as well. Even through my rear windows, when its really dark, I can see fine.

Window tint

Might not look the best on some cars though. For example, I had a Laguna Seca DC Integra, with tint it looked terrible. But now I have a BB6 Prelude, dark green, and the tint looks great.

Yes, it helps alot. I also have my windshield tinted which is really nice

i got 35% on my si and its decent if its a sunny day u can c straight through it. It does help alot with keepin some heat out cuz these cars have such huge windows like the windshield, ive had friends wit their windshield completly tinted and they got pulled over within a week or two. heres some pics

at night

Tint is functional, the percentage is calculated by the % light that is passed through the tint itself!! Example, 35% tint only lets 35% of the light in!! Thus reducing inside temps. I have had 20, 35, and 50% tint!! 20 is too dark for me at night, and 50% doesn't do much!! good luck

It looks a bit darker in that pic because it was cloudy, but I don't get hassled by the cops because my fronts are legal,ish...

Where in Matthews do you work? Thats where I live...

i have 5% rear and 25% up front. It serves its purpose of privacy and keeps it cooler than no tint inside on a hot day. I paid 100 bucks and i think i just wasted money i think tint should be left to luxury cars like BMW's, Mercedes Benz, etc. Just my 2 cents

Purpose of tint is to keep the interior from fading. If you park your car outside alot, consider getting tint. Always check your local law of % of tint.

It definitely keeps the interior cooler on hot days. People will still be able to see you with 35%, but at least you won't get pulled over. Dark tint looks dumb on most hondas anyway.

I dont really like window tintin..i think its coo to beable to see through the car and see the seats and interior and wat not. but for the people that live in hot areas i can see why they would want tinting
