Performance wise between 4Dr Vs 2Dr Integra
I have a 4Dr Integra that I am going to rebuild and plan to make the most 450whp. But I have a concern to be addressed...Comparing a 4Dr and a 2Dr Integra, would my 4Dr be able to keep up or be as fast as the 2Dr Integras that everyone has even if both the cars have the same hp and torque? I understand that 4Drs have more weight and length. But If I lightened my 4dr Integra would I be able to keep up with a 2Dr Integra that has the same amount of hp and torque as I do? Is a really big concern of mine because everyone has a 2dr DA and I'm trying to be unique but also fast as well. Please share me your input.
Im assuming your going turbo, well the 2 door is only a little bit longer and a little bit heavier. Same engine will have same speed.
Yes, I plan on rebuilding the motor completely with all aftermarket pistons, rods, valvetrain parts and etc along with a turbo setup. Since the 2dr is a bit longer and heavier, would I be able to beat my friend? Everyone told me that my 4dr wont beat no 2dr but I want to prove them wrong. So any advice or opinion would help. Thanx for your first advice.
We don't bench race here. Just build the car and find out. It is going to be quick with that whp. I'll venture to say that driving skill will play a major factor in how it performs.

You cant ask those type of questions.. BUT i will say at qualcomm i did a better tie then somebody on a 2 door integra. Pretty much it is more exciting and fun to build your car , go to the tracks and race your friend and find out. 4 door integras are fast, put your self and your 4 door into a diet. Im skinny but my 4 door isnt light enough..
Here is just the beggining of a diet.. Its not alot but add EVERYTHING up and its something.. carbon fiber parts , tires , suspension , theres alot you can do, light cars arent always the fastest.

im planning on taking that out and shaving it , but till then..

There's only about 100 pounds and a few inches more length to a 4 door. How you build it would make much more difference than the sedan vs. hatch choice. Money spent on the build would yield more than a chassis switch, by far....

This is exactly what I love about Honda-Tech.com compared to Team-Integra.Net...I've asked the same question on Team-Integra.Net and all I got was rude answers by a Site Administrator. As he should of known that I am a rookie and just have questions. I do not ask stupid questions on everyday. His username is JustinKlemgold. There are the cool helpful Acura and Honda fanatics and then there are guys like him with permenant pms being as nice as I will put it. Thank you for all your help guys. I appreciate the input. I do understand that this was a dumb and pointless topic but I had to ask. Don't hurt to ask and I say thank you again.
i go to both forums, theres some good info there too

I still don't see the tech. Shall I inject some?
Let's discuss the weight bias of the 2-door vs. 4-door, which will certainly affect traction in a drag race. THAT is a technical point.

1992-1993 weights
2 door 4 door
Weight, Manual Transmission 2643 lbs (1199 Kg) 2703 lbs (1226 Kg)
Both have 140hp at 63000 RPM.
1990-1991 Weights
2Door 4Door
2560lbs(1161KG) 2606lbs(1182Kg)
Both have 130HP at 63000RPM
The 92-93 2 door weighs more then the 90-91 4 Door, Granted 10 more HP... But the HP doesnt matter after a swap.

or how about the fact that the 4dr is a stiffer chassis stock for stock. when (or if, i am questioning your understanding of whats involved after this question) you get to 450whp and if your friend has a 450whp 2 dr then there will many other factors. I.E. traction, driver, torque and hp curves, etc.
go slap the person that told you a 4 dr can't beat a 2 dr. you just gotta set it up a little better or have a little extra power.

i got a 90 integra sedan and i have woop a 2 dr da,civic with the same set up i have.to the op i make around 230whp andn i notice that my launches are better than a 2dr da.
just my 2 cents.
just my 2 cents.
Appreciate your inputs. So the fact that 4drs are stiffer, is that good or bad? Doesn't a car need to be stiff so it won't flex? That is why we can sway bars right? And if not, then what parts or methods can I do to make my car better (chassis wise)? Last, is there any forums that give a detailed list of every and any little to big aftermarket parts that I should or could buy to build my engine up to 400whp+? From bolts and nuts, to washers, to bearings, to cams, and cranks, etc. I want to be sure I buy the right parts to push that much power. Money won't be a problem soon, and I'll leave it like that. If not, would anyone ever have the time to make a detailed list? I kno I'm asking for too much. But It don't hurt to ask thou this is not a tech question I believe. Thanx
after ~300-350whp you cross a threshold that is dangerous for the stock sleeves.
do some turbo research for 6 months before you do anything, if you don't know what you need then theres a good chance you can't afford it.

It's not that I can't afford it...I am receiving a really large sum of cream soon. Just want to know what brands are best for everything from the littlest pieces as bolts, washers, and/or what not to the biggest like block, head, cam, crank, tranny and etc. I want the best brands that last longest and put out amazing power gains. I should of stuck with Lincoln Tech but found out they only teach the basics which I could learn on the streets but I still need my degree. Is Lincoln Tech worth the education btw excluding the degree received?
rear strut bar, front strut bar or the one from JDM password i think im not sure, its like a cage that goes under the hood, and if its track only car you should get the whole roll cage for your 4 door. rear strut bar and well things like that , c pillar bar , its endless my friend!!
