is there not much difference between a rs, ls and gs stock engine? do they all have same engine? sorry for being so dumb about this i just dont know anything about them.
all non gsr's have the same motor, they're just commonly called ls's. only difference would be in options for the car, ie: moonroof, power features etc..
same exact motors, the rs is just pretty much the base model(no sunroof+ other goodies not exactly sure but it's the lightest if that matters to you). The gs is the "fanciest" of those three, then the gsr has the gsr motor... I think that's a pretty good price assuming the body is in decent condition and it runs smooth. If you take care of a Honda it will last a long time.

It's pretty much personal preference, gsr's will have more hp and be a little faster which would be nice but I don't think it makes that much of a difference to pass up a good opportunity, some people would rather not spend the money unless they could get a hold of one... I guess it also depends on what you plan on doing with the car in the future too(build it, keep it stock and daily drive it, turbo, NA, etc.)
i want it to be a daily driver but i would also like it to be quick, i had a stock 2001 honda prelude for about a year and it was very quick so i would want something like the prelude and i dont mind putting some extra money to make the stock engine run faster. can a rs or ls be comparable to the prelude with not much extra money?

Yes, it can by slapping on a cheap and reliable turbo kit. You can also take another route and go all-motor, but then you would have to do a lot more just to obtain the numbers that an h22 (Prelude motor) is putting down.
