Default Not the typical A/C problem!!

Searched but most of all the threads are about why it doesn't blow cold, not the problem I have here. A/C works fine but...it stays on when the switch is in the "off" mode. When the blower fan is turned on to any speed the clutch engages regardless of if the actual button for the A/C is pressed. Where would I even start to look?

95 Del sol
A/C clutch engaged whether or not the button is pressed on or off.
