Default Question on Obd0 ---> Obd1 timing/CEL post swap

I bought an ECU jumper harness from Rywire.com a while back for an '89 CRX HF to swap in a D15Z1 ('92-95 Civic VX VTEC-E engine) using the stock P07 ECU and 5-wire O2. The harness worked great and the car fired on the first try with no CELs! My question is, with the included Z1 pigtail, the instructions told in order to check CELs in the future (and I assume adjust timing as well), that I would need to ground the blue wire, which I have done while tuning and it worked when my VTEC psi switch failed to stay connected. With the blue wire as my new service connector, does the factory one from my old D15B6 now serve any purpose? It is located in the engine bay on the driver's side near the shock tower. When checking timing will I need to use the stock connector, the blue one from the pigtail, or a combination of both? Thanks, Mak

PS -- I contacted Rywire a few days ago and haven't heard back so I figured ol' H-T would save the day again.
