b-series swap now i want A/C
I know theres companies out there that make the bracket to use the stock compressor but they want like 140-200 bucks. My question is there a way to use the stock b-series compressor and mount but use the crx lines and everything else?

I know nothing about anything, but couldn't you just make your own bracket? Lowes/Home Depot, find some angle stock, drill holes, bolt or weld, rinse wash repeat.
im sure i could if i wanted to spend the time and do it, i bet i could get the stock bracket for the b-series and make it hold the compressor.
i think if you have an aftermarket crossmember it might work...clearance is the issue i believe. i want to do this too, but i'm putting it off until i can buy all the parts. guy that sold me the car took everything out but the a/c button
there is a write on using a stock b-series bracket with the stock civic compressor..you have to do some modding of course with the proper tools. most b-series swap use the stock civic compressor because of the a/c line fitment.
If you buy the innovative bracket you need to make sure you have the specific compressor because they are two different ones. For Hasport just specific which one you have when ordering. The hose connection off the sanden and matsushita compressor are different. I found out the hard way going to the junkyard twice. I ended up buying the hose brand new. bleh..
I basically have everything setup for mine. Just haven't hooked up the receiver/dryer and wiring harness. Everything is there...pain in the butt...put a/c into an 89 DX hatch from scratch!!

i have the Si so the harness everything is there, i have everything from the stock a/c it just wont work on my b-series. i think im going to purchase a bracket and a compressor see what i have to do. I can weld and all of that so thats not a problem having to modify a little bit. i think its time to start searching for that write up to convert over to the b-series bracket. Im just tring to same money on the car its just going to be a DD so im not going for show.

Just a note, I am really really stoked you guys are friendly and don't talk crap to the guys that are wanting AC back in thier cars. I have a 15 month old and i put up a post on 4thgencivic forum and the guys in there were jerks.

a/c in socal is a must!!
When i installed a/c i didn't have to modify much. Although I did have to install a slim for the condensor. It is a tight fit though. some people opt for no a/c for more engine bay space but I actually want to enjoy driving my car in the heat.

In the process of making a writeup on how to put a/c back in with a b-series swap. Im currently using a b-series a/c bracket and compressor maybe a hose or two. The reason for my a/c is that in socal its gets hot, i have about 2hr breaks between classes and its rough without ac. Plus since the car gets good gas mileage my parents said that if theres one or two people that want to go to arizona to the vacation house we just take the crx. remember my whole family drives trucks this is the first car we have had in about 15yrs. our average mileage in our trucks about 12-17mpg
ill keep you guys posted on my progress

Im using the Hasport A/C bracket on my B-series swap. It bolts up perfect with the stock compressor and all. Only problem im having is trying to find the right size belt to fit the compressor down to the crank pulley.
Any ideas?

there are a few writeups around just gotta search for them...i found some on the internet as well. for the belt I believe you would use an LS power steering belt. Found it somewhere the net. for the consendor fan you're gonna have to use a slim fan. I found one on ebay.
if you any of you need hoses, etc i have some spares lying around from my quest to put a/c in. I also have a few incomplete wiring harnesses and 2 compressors (matsushita i think). The innovative bracket required the sanden. I have hoses for the matsushita if you're going to use the hasport bracket. Also got a b16 (pr3) a/c bracket if anyone needs one to modify. There a write somewhere on the net on how to do it. Think you need a drill press, etc.

I just want AC so my defroster will actually work! but all I need is heat where I live so I'll probably never do it.

hey I know this is pretty benign but please do your transactions by PM or put it in the for sale thread.

i got the bracket installed and compressor installed ran out of time today since i decided to go to the junkyard for the second time today. Found a diagram for the lines online, need to find new seals then ill try stock hoses.
on my b16a swap im running the stock b-series a/c bracket with the stock 91 civic compressor.
only two bolts mount up but its plenty strong, havent had problems and its been over a year since i had the swap done.
its freakin awesome having a/c in socal

Cool im going to try the way i have gone so far but if it doesnt work out, with out going with custom lines then i think im going to go that route. The bracket, compressor, and 2 lines that connect the the compresser cost me 90 bucks today at pick a part i have the warranty on the compressor so if anything i can return it and get credit.
Just think if i have to go custom lines im sure it will cost about 30-40 bucks to get 1 or 2 lines made but for that price i could have just gotten the innovative mount. Im was wondering what belt are you running?

Well i havent made any progress on the ac install. i have been very busy plus how the car is parked it makes it very hard to work on since its not driveable at the moment and if i roll it back from the garage i wont beable to double park my truck behind it. Waiting on parts to convert to obd1. Im planning to make some progress on monday hopefully.i know im going to need a new electric fan also. which is about 27 bucks through a local ebay company
Goal for tomarrow to hook everything up for the Obd0 to obd1 coversion. Start plumbing the A/C can anyone tell me were i can pickup the o-rings for the lines and coolant to lub them?
