00 civic si axle stuck in transmission
Long story short I my axle went bad on the passenger side and the axle came out the the piece that goes in the transmission, where the bearings go inside basically the bearing housing wont come out of the transmission, just wanting to know if anyone knows a way to get it out. I have pried and pried nothing, let me know this is my only vehicle. thanks

Yeah, giving it a "jerk" will pop it out - that's what it needs. Slow-steady pressure won't do jack if it's jammed in their good.
I know this sounds *** backwards but make your priority getting it out - and your secondary priority not damaging it. If you're too gentile with it and it's in there good - it's not going to come out. It takes a lot to [freak] it up, though, so you can usually go at it pretty hard.

well dude ur just not tryin hard enough dammit... get down there an pry that **** off like theres $5 million bucks thats gonna pour out when u get it off... if it brakes, big deal its already broken
that ***** gotta come out one way or another... only thing holdin it in the tranny is a lil safety clip or metal o-ring w/e its called, so yeah get ur *** down there an pry that **** like ur doin it to save the world an u should be good..

u try rotating it while ur trying to pry it out..?? like pry on one area, than turn it about 1/4 turn an try again, turn it 1/4 try again, ect....
how much of a grip are u getting..?? i had to use my universal jack to give me a good 2ft clearance to grab the pry bar an actually jam on that ****.... it usually takes about 5-10 pries for stubborn ones i've dealt with... sometimes even wedge that **** or have a friend hold it so i can reposition myself to use my foot an just pry hard as fawk.... not sayin ur a lil bitch or nunn just sayin sometimes when they're stubborn u gotta be more persistent..
all axles were like that, when i first started changin them, I actually look forward to popping them out, get rid of some frustration that they broke. lol. It seems so easy when thinking about doing it. KEEP TRYING it will come out i guarentee it>
i just had that happen to me an hour ago took 4 hours of beating the crap out of it but i got it out. GL on gtting it out and beat it till it hurts lol
The suggestions you are going to get haven't changed since this thread was started back in '08 so I don't know what you're expecting.
And then you don't say what you've tried.

4 ft pry bar with a quick sudden movement will pop it out.
i always use a hammer to hit the drivers side inner cup and use a 4ft pry bar on the passenger side.
this is such a easy task
