Adding cruise to a 90 Civic SI?
I have a 90 Civic SI as my commuter car. I love the old machine, but I'd love it more if it had cruise control. What's the best way to add it? An after market kit? Or can I use the cruise from another Honda? How hard is something like this? Is it a well documented procedure? Or do I need an EE degree? I'd really hope to keep it as OEM looking as possible. My SI is 100% stock other than wheels (they look OEM) and stereo and generally like it that way. Thanks in advance.
i'm considering the same thing for my crx. i think the easiest way is an aftermarket kit (about $100) and another steering wheel with the buttons, say from an integra, prelude, or civic lx.
How hard is the steering wheel swap?? I'd rather leave the stock wheel if possible, but perhaps if it was nice and sporty and looks stock.
The pedal cluster needs to be swapped as well to make it as stock. I would look to getting all the stock parts. Most aftermarket kits work poorly at best. I love CC, and feel your pain. I love having the CC in my EX. I went through hell to put CC in a '77 VW rabbit once, and it was still worth it.
