90 ef brakes are leaking!!!!
ok i really dont know what could be the problem here.... first of all i have brake fluid on ALL FOUR RIMS!!! about once a week i am adding brake fluid due to leakage.
the only thing that i can think of is the wrong type of fluid, i decided i wanted to try valvoline full synt fluid. i use valv syng oil so i wanted to be brand specific....i think it was a mistake cuz now all line has fluid on them.
so my question for this is....is the fluid too "thin" for an older brake system? should i just stick to dot 3? it has started leaking ever since i started using this fluid.
another question, i have auto tranny fluid leak coming from distributor side of motor....do tranny lines run to the tranny fluid cooler from that side of the engine? the puddle size depends on how long i have the car running.
thanks

Synthetic brake fluid is not recomended as far as I know. Feel free to correct me on this if anyone has solid knowledge about this. Replacing the fluid with DOT3 at this point may not solve your problem if the seals have failed, but it's a cost effective first attempt.
Don't know anout the trany fluid.

thanx dude you said exactly what the dealership just said... they reccommend honda at tranny fluid which is actually cheap. they said it cures the rough/late shifting.
also told me rear wheel cylinders may be bad now, bout 30 bucks each dealer price...rebuild kit for for front cylinder seal and piston boots.
another thing i didnt know was that synt engine oil will find the smallest wheep hole and tend to leak out of the smallest crevice that normal 10w oil would not leak from. basically anything over 20-30k miles is not reccommended for synt oil.
and yes i can revert to dot3, bleed em, vaccuum/blow out lines/master cylinder and start with dry brake system

Make sure you clean it up too. wow yeah I would have never put synthetic brake fluid on a 10+ year old car. lol. I wont even dare use synthetic oil on mine unless I rebuild the engine... good luck on the brake rebuild

While a synthetic engine oil may do this because it flows better, the point remains you have a leak. It's just slower with dino oil.
There is no reason you can't switch to/from or mix synthetic and dino oils at any time.
