7/7 nasa autox
another weekend another autocross. this weekends event was the only one in the area since 2 others in the tri-stae area got canceled. so it was pritty packed. it was def. a rear wheel drive course. my suspissions were confermed later in the day when i took a mustang out and the course felt good. yea throttle steer. never drove a rwd car before tho, so it was interesting to say the least. good to see some HTers there. rodney, good to see u again. too bad that darn porsche got by u. hey at least now they won't think about bumping u. dave bowlin aka hot shoe- always a pleasure. way to show up and whip the csp-preped cars in ur class your azenis! u rule. guy in silver lude (sorry, i can't remember ur user name) i'm sorry i couldn't help u with ur pressures. hope u got them figured out. next event i'll try to help u out. all in all, good event, tough course, darn vw's are giving me a run for my money.
this was my first autoX event ever. i had a blast. everyone there was so helpfull especially rodney. Just want to give a shout out to rodney for havin a great day at the track and that damn porshe just got lucky. thanks for all your help. NASA's intructors were also a big help when they went with me for ride alongs. I was pretty happy with my times. I think i'm hooked and it seems that i have to dig further into my wallet to get a sway bar and some good tires. i ended up being 11th outta 28 in my class and i thought that was pretty good considering my experience and my mods. hope to see everyone there on july 21st cuz i'll def. be there!
I'm the dude with the silver prelude. Name is Rico by the way. As for the tire pressure, I just ran 38f and 36r and it seemed pretty good. I still don't know if I'm suppose to be in D class. I only have 15 points...how the hell do I compete with Porche Boxsters and Honda S2ks? Now if I was in E class, I would have finished in 8th place and that would have made me real happy. Now I'm just going to mod my car but still remain in D class, I suppose. Hope to see you guys soon.

oops, i forgot about you altezza mike......you did an awesome job, very impressive. see you at the next one, i'm gonna kick that porche's *** this time.....
we have been discussing this on the nasa msg board. once u HIT 15 POINTS, u get bumped.
rico-why don't u take off something and go down to E. if u have xdrilled rotors, dump those. there a couple of points thats not worth it in autocorss.

kahlua, thanks. Actually I think I could hit 52 if I had just ONE more run...ahhaha...everyone says ONE more run.
Soloef, I don't have cross drilled rotors. What I have on the car is a biatch to take off. It's ok, at least I didn't finish last in D class. I will get a rear sway bar and learn to play with the big boys.
I won't be back for the next autox but maybe the one after that. It's a lot of fun runing with NASA but ****, $40 is a lot. Anyway, you guys need to give me some tips...I want to get better.

i really liked everyone at the NASA event and the way it went. Since pre-reg. is closed, should I just try for SCCA's event on that day? Are they ran pretty much the same? What are the differences? Please let me know so i don't miss this pre-reg. too!
yea, u can try the scca event. i can tell u now that its less money, i think 30 for non-members, but u will get less runs. i was gonna go because its my home reigon ad thats the lot i first autocrossed in, but i'm points chasing in NAS and i have 1st locked down in nyrscca (because no one runs my class.)
sup guys. this is pete, the dude that drove the black civic. just want to say i really enjoyed the NASA event and meeting all u guys. hopefully next time i'll do better than 60.3 sec....
