you're car is idling and needs to suck in air for the motor to run, otherwise it would stall out. and when you start you're car, that means it IS running. not trying to be a dick, but how do you have 131 posts and not have a clue about this.

If your car is idleing that mean it is running. SRI intakes always sound like they are sucking in a lot of air.

wow, i don't think i've ever heard of the intake sucking air with the car shut off. and you tried to give your car a cigarette? is it 18 yet? i'm going to call on this one. if a car is idling, its running.

your post was kinda pointless, and how are you gonna call bs on his test. that doesnt make sense. he also said his car was started, but he doesnt know what running means.

<TABLE WIDTH="90%" CELLSPACING=0 CELLPADDING=0 ALIGN=CENTER><TR><TD>Quote, originally posted by jr408 &raquo;</TD></TR><TR><TD CLASS="quote">the thing is that its not sucking in nothing...i put a cigarette by it and didnt suck in no smoke or anything...what is the problem</TD></TR></TABLE>

there is no problem. when you are IDLING, the car is RUNNING and will suck in air. if you dont believe me, then turn on the car, take the filter off the sri, and put your hand over the intake so that it blocks the whole opening. then see what it does. and if youre hearing the INTAKE SUCKING AIR, then you might want to replace/clean the filter.

<TABLE WIDTH="90%" CELLSPACING=0 CELLPADDING=0 ALIGN=CENTER><TR><TD>Quote, originally posted by jr408 &raquo;</TD></TR><TR><TD CLASS="quote">this morning i started my car and my sri seems like it was trying to suck in air because i can hear it and my car is not even running yet IT WAS JUST STARTED .what can the problem be</TD></TR></TABLE>

I did say that he didnt know what having a car running means, so i agree with you on that one. however, my first post already said 'IF THE CAR IS STARTED THAT MEANS ITS RUNNING'. so you both basically said what i said. and how am i putting words in your mouth. if you think that im bitting off you with the '/thread' thing then thats all it is, im biting those words from you. i just seen that in other threads so i used it, i dont know if its from you. but anyway learn how to use the phrase "you put words in my mouth" correctly, ok noob with 1300+ bs/useless posts. nice talking to ya.

putting words in my mouth would be <TABLE WIDTH="90%" CELLSPACING=0 CELLPADDING=0 ALIGN=CENTER><TR><TD>Quote, originally posted by VTEC_Du_Ma_Mai &raquo;</TD></TR><TR><TD CLASS="quote"> you gonna call bs on his test. </TD></TR></TABLE> i never said that. oh, and if you read my 1300+ posts, they're not bs/ useless. once in a while i post useless ****, but for the most part.... /thread.

After the car is shut off, could the vacuum reservoirs be sucking in a small air flow that is making noise? How long does this noise persist?

thats normal. like i told Dogginator on an im, its like the motor is finishing its "last breath" know what i mean? a stock intake does that too, but the air box and the other box behind the fender hides the noise.
