wondering if a type-r head will fit my 91 ls

No, it's never gonna work! This is some sort of crazy talk. Where did you come up with a ridiculous idea like that?

However I will tell you what will work though, the "search" feature.

No a type r head will not fit right on your ls. first you will have to pull your head off and have the dowel pins repositioned. once that is done you will want to get a pcm that controls vtec. have your oil line fed to your valve cover via external line. The engine your trying to build is a lsvtec or frankenstein. there great engines if done right. is will work once everything is done but you cant just bolt a vtec head to a non vtec engine.
