would an si grill from a 99-00 fit on a 96 civic?
or would i have to get a replica

no it wont, the 96-98 and the 99-00 are different, the headlights were changed on the 99-00, meaning everything they touched were changed, including the hood, grill, fenders, and bumper

The reason it won't fit is that the '99-'00 grilles are significantly longer and taller (IIRC) than the '96-'98 grilles.
