i have a aem SRI and today when i drove it makes a hissing sound and dont stop until im fully stopped.i never had that noise before and it just starts making that sound. and when i take my key off in the ignition it sounds like its still hissing or sucking air?people says its normal but i never had that problem before. can any one tell me whats wrong? also can anyone tell me what would i know if theres something wrong with my intake? thx

 

So your SRI was sucking air in. Wow, Id have that checked out right away.

On a serious note, the SRI will make a sucking noise everytime you open the Throttle Plate.

Go stand in front of your car and pull on the Throttle, you will here it go, whoosh right in.

 

ut it never made that noise before....and while im stepping on the gas it foesnt make a whistling noise it hisses until im fully stopped whuck never happened to me before

 

That's the sound an aftermarket intake makes. Maybe you should put the stock airbox back on or take it to a shop if you think you are having problems with it.

Check all the couplings to make sure they are snug and check the filter to make sure it's intact. It probably wouldn't be a bad idea to clean and re-oil it if it's not a dry flow.

The only thing about your story that sounds strange is when you say you can still hear it sucking in air when the car is off. I've never noticed that before.

As far as you never hearing it before, maybe you just didn't notice until now?
