plastic cover behind door?

plastic cover behind door?

I pulled my door apart today and found out that the plastic seal thing (i assume it keeps everything else dry) has ripped apart. Should i replace this or should i not used it at all?

I believe it's a water seal. So you might end up with some extra condensation, which isn't exactly great for your car, but it's not horrible not to have it or for it to have torn.
